Prismalystals once originated from a lush and crystalline core based planet named Chulara. They travelled across the stars when their planet was destroyed by an unknown entity. Since then a certain Deity in the same solar system caught wind of the species and brought them to Astrion more than 30,000 years ago, making them a necessity to the ecosystem and a helpful friend to both Atraxis and JRs. 

These creatures are mostly of docile nature and for the most part, can mine and heal others. This crystalline based species are of magical nature, using an aura magic and are extrasensory, some sporting the ability of future sight and seen when danger will be present; meaning they encounter humans and other creatures. Some call them omens, because when seen, Prismalystals don't always intervene in the balance of nature. 

In terms of mining, their heightened senses and aura magic means they can detect ores that are of value to trading markets, such as the major docks - often assisting JRs, especially of the Brimstone subtype in order to prevent underground overgrowths of these ores. Without Prismalystals and Brimstone JRs mining ore and making underground homes, there would be more quakes of more destructive magnitude.

 

Prismalystals sport four canines upper and lower, a row of pointed incisors in between and large crushing molars at the back of the mouth; they are omnivorous but lean more towards meat. Their feral height is 3ft tall and 5ft long. When shifted into their true upright form, they can be up to 8ft in height!

 

Their horns are always seen to be longer than their ears, indicating their strength in magic, however there are some of the species where the ears are longer than the horns, meaning their sense of hearing is hypersensitive which is also useful to hear the flow of magma, possible collapses of tunnels and if an ore is true or false.

These creatures also have crystals located on their forehead (the horn), their neck and shoulders (dense in crystalline material), the long strip of miniature crystals gradiated into their fur (across the spine area) which can vary in shape and both forearms and back legs. These can be made out of any element or crystal both native to the planet and beyond, some have been seen sporting carbon materials, diamonds, rubies and even gold - as well as some rather toxic and radioactive substances. This also affects the strength and durability of a Prisma, some make the bones brittle and weak at lifting, while the heavier crystals can strengthen them to be able to lift 1000x their body weight! (on average, Prismas weigh in around 130lbs!)

The horn is where the magic (commonly healing magic, but there can be other forms of magic) is present at birth and there can be multiple but shorter and ANY style that suits them and used upon creatures that are wounded or ill - but not guaranteed to completely cure illness, HOWEVER their own healing magic cannot be used on themselves, as it is toxic to their species. Thankfully though for the most part, their immune system is very strong, they are affected by some JR illnesses however, including those that would cause a Prismalystals’ horn(s) and neck area to completely shed and begin leaking out in powerful bursts of what looks like cosmic energy. 

Prismalystals do not sport tails, as it would block the flow of magic and focus that they need to train their varied abilities, but those with weak magic or no magic (the longer eared short horned variants) may sport tails of any kind. Black or milky white eyes indicate blindness and correspond with having longer ears and is a mutation upon them - they develop ultrasonic abilities and can see through echo location instead! This means they can effectively communicate with Batterns who do alert them of news and trades - though often times Batterns do prank them.

 

Dependent on their living environment, they can come with thick coat cover which glitters with smaller crystals and can fleck off - these flecks are very valuable to travellers of Astrion to collect off the various floras of the world, as well as stones to sell for various reasons - including medicinal, precious metals or even flammable sources!

Requirements

  • If the horns are shorter, the ears must be bigger

  • Likewise if the horns are bigger, the ears must be shorter

  • Neck/shoulder area must always have some form of gem/carbon like material

  • There must always be a smooth gradiated strip under the arms and around the spine area, can be any shape strip (zigzag, cloud etc), but never broken

  • Must have gem ore on elbow area and back of legs roughly where the knee is

  • Large front paws with gecko like pads, thin hind legs at the back - more top heavy

  • Eyes - always have a ring in the irises, can be any colour

  • If eyes are black/grey/white, they must have longer ears and very short horns

  • No tails UNLESS short horned, longer eared variants in which case they can have any style tail

Optional

  • They can have hair of any length

  • Multiple shorter horns without the need for bigger ears

  • Can have multiple large ears for shorter horns

  • Horns can be any shape as long as they are made of gems

  • Their ears can be any shape/style as long as it follows the rules

  • Their hand claws can be longer or shorter, but still required

  • They can have different types of legs as long as it follows the bigger arms, small hindlegs rule

  • Can have any type of gemstone, ore, metallic material for their horns, neck and other areas

  • Multiple arms

  • Due to their bodily chemistry, they can have metallic bones and some develop masks of technological geode nature during development - these are usually the types that stay and mine within proximity of poisonous / radioactive materials. Cybernetics can be crafted for loss of limbs, and are not naturally occurring outside of the face.

Prismalystals cannot have:

  • Wings - body weight combined with the gem ore and often times skeletal structure means they’d never be able to fly. They could only fly on the backs of Vitocyr.

  • Cybernetics outside of the facial region: only exception is for limb loss, but even then must resemble the standard limb. Prismalystals usually place a gem or ore in the correct area of cybernetic replacement and this is what usually helps power them and reconnect them with their inner magic system.

  • Multiple hind legs - due to hind leg structure, it would impede their walking ability and balance

  • Elemental horns / ears / necks - anything other than the materials shown will not pass

This species is a part of the World of Astrion and is a SEMI-OPEN species. You may only make one for free if you

own a JR (one per person), and needs approving by the owners for one to be official!

You cannot make more than one! Prismalytals typically look like the image you were given, they don't have special traits unlike JRs, as long as they have all that is on the image and get approved all is good. No colour or marking restrictions!​​(You will need to either note for approval or contact via the JR discord).
