The Atraxis closed species
The Atraxis are a very shy, peaceful race of creatures, often druidic in nature and always wishing to resolve matters via speech, rather than brute force. They have a strong affinity with magic, especially healing and water based magic, with a direct relativity to the Vapor subspecies of Jolleraptors. They ensure that there is always peace in their homeland and legend has it, they alongside the Vapors, were the ones to calm the great beast down below the depths of the oceans.
They're made up of planetary core fragments, which in the right area, gravitates space dust and ethereal energy into itself - thus forming a core. This core gains sentience through all the atmospheric minerals as well as the water - once connecting with water forms the Atraxis' body around the core, which is where their affinity for water and healing magic comes from. In order to reproduce, they summon forth their core and carve a fragment out of it before releasing it to allow for the process to begin again, gravitating dust and ethereal energy. They seem to have an infinitesimal life span due to their spacial magic origins and while some species theorise they came before the JR deities, it is said the first ever cores were formed as fragments from the cookie egg of the first JR For9ervr
Their height ranges from 2ft to 7ft at most, though there have been fluctuations in these measurements over recent years in studies shown. Traits wise, they bear some resemblance to their JR brethren and it seems Astrion carries the specifics of the arm dividers in many of the native species there, but seem to have no limitations as to what they can look like, with a wide variety of combos. Vents on their torso have dual functions as they seal and form a special membrane to breathe underwater as well as reopen and breathe on land, allowing them flexible travels.
They do however struggle with thinner atmospheres and so cannot travel to higher altitudes. For this reason, they hone their magic to produce pockets of liquified air to allow them to reach further than their body would usually allow them and they can circulate it with ease. Their more powerful and most draining magic is of course teleportation, for when they want to explore new worlds and have not found a means to travel by vehicle.
In order to replenish energy lost during the production of this magic, the Atraxis consume a mineral ore known as luminite - which glows an orangeish hue. The ore then gets crushed into a powder and added to a strange concoction that can be easily consumed and can last them months at a time.
Most Atraxis keep this ore with them in the event of them exploring another world. This bizarre mineral can be found in the cavernous regions of Astrion and can also have bizarre effects on Jolleraptors too.
Intelligence wise, they are just as smart as your average person and are highly empathetic towards others. They will do what they can in order to be of assistance, but will almost never involve themselves in a fight. They are capable of learning languages, but choose to learn the main native language of a planet for easier communication with other species - they also serve as translators for Jolleraptors beeping, though the Astrionic Research Facility has never succeeded in getting close to an Atraxis due to their shyness and peaceful nature.
Diet wise, while omnivorous, they choose to consume more fish and plant-life to sustain themselves as naturally as possible, but they do have the capability to eat others - however due to their peaceful nature, they prefer to go for fish and plant-life than take on large creatures of land.
They are highly empathetic creatures and very sensitive when it comes to their paws, since they feel both emotions and release their magic through them. This can be counterproductive if someone they are trying to help feels negative emotions and thus after has to rely on another Atraxi or creature with positive emotions to help cheer them up.
